Zapier is an online platform that allows you to create automated workflows between different apps. For example, you can create a zap that automatically adds a new contact to your CRM when you receive an email from them, or a zap that sends a thank-you email when someone fills out a form on your website. You can also use zaps to trigger actions based on events, such as sending a reminder email when a task is due or updating a spreadsheet when a new order is placed.
Zapier works with over 5,000 apps, including popular ones like Gmail, Slack, Mailchimp, Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, and more. You can browse the Zapier app directory to find the apps you use and see what zaps are possible with them. You can also create your own custom zaps using Zapier's easy-to-use interface.

Once you have both accounts set up, see the detailed steps below for creating your first zap with IndustrySelect. You can also check out the video at the end of this post.
1. Once you have signed into your Zapier account, sign up, you will see a welcome screen with some suggestions on how to get started with Zapier. You can explore these suggestions or skip them for now.
2. To create your first zap with IndustrySelect, click on the Make a Zap button at the top of the screen.
3. You will see a screen where you can choose your trigger app and your action app. The trigger app is the app that will start your zap, and the action app is the app that will perform an action based on the trigger.
4. In this case, the trigger app is IndustrySelect, and the action app is any of the 5,000+ apps on Zapier that you want to connect with IndustrySelect. For example, let's say you want to create a zap that automatically adds a new lead to your CRM when you export a company profile from IndustrySelect.
5. To choose IndustrySelect as your trigger app, type IndustrySelect in the search box and select it from the list. You will see a list of triggers that IndustrySelect can provide, such as New Company Profile Exported or New Company List Exported. Choose the one that suits your needs and click on Continue.
6. You will need to connect your IndustrySelect account to Zapier by adding the IndustrySelect API key.
7. Once you connect your IndustrySelect account, you will see a screen where you can customize your trigger options. For example, you can choose which fields you want to export from IndustrySelect, such as company name, email, phone number, etc. You can also filter your exports by industry, location, size, etc. Choose the options that suit your needs and click on Continue.
8. You will see a screen where you can test your trigger by fetching a sample company profile from IndustrySelect. You can review the sample data and make sure it matches your expectations. If everything looks good, click on Continue.
9. Now you have set up your trigger app, and you can move on to choosing your action app. In this case, let's say you want to use Salesforce as your action app and add a new lead to your CRM when you export a company profile from IndustrySelect.
10. To choose Salesforce as your action app, type Salesforce in the search box and select it from the list. You will see a list of actions that Salesforce can perform, such as Create Lead, Update Lead, Find Lead, etc. Choose the one that suits your needs and click on Continue.
11. You will need to connect your Salesforce account to Zapier by logging in with your Salesforce credentials. If you don't have a Salesforce account yet, you can sign up for one here: https://www.salesforce.com/
12. Once you connect your Salesforce account, you will see a screen where you can customize your action options. For example, you can map the fields from IndustrySelect to the fields in Salesforce, such as company name, email, phone number, etc. You can also add any additional information or settings that you want for your new lead in Salesforce. Choose the options that suit your needs and click on Continue.
13. You will see a screen where you can test your action by sending a sample company profile from IndustrySelect to Salesforce and creating a new lead in your CRM. You can review the sample data and make sure it matches your expectations. If everything looks good, click on Continue.
14. Congratulations! You have created your first zap with IndustrySelect and Zapier! You can name your zap and turn it on by clicking on the toggle switch at the bottom of the screen. You can also edit or delete your zap at any time by going to https://zapier.com/app/zaps
