According to MNI, compiler and publisher of the industrial data that powers IndustrySelect, 2.1% of U.S. metal fabricators reported a growth in employment, in line with sales growth, which clocked in at 2.3%.

Flint Metal Fabrication, which specializes in metal fabrication and sheet metal stampings, is the largest agriculture equipment fabrication plant in the U.S., with 1,400 employees.
It specializes in providing sheet metal stampings for 20 General Motors facilities, and has received several awards for its efforts in environmental safety.
2. GBC Metals, LLC.
GBC Metals specializes in copper and copper alloy sheet, strip, plate, foil and fabricated components. GBC tailors its products to the automotive, housing, electronics, coinage and ammunition industries.
It counts 1,100 workers stationed at its East Alton, Ill., plant.
3. Spraying Systems Co.
Spraying Systems has 1,000 employees. The company specializes in fabricating industrial spray nozzles, turnkey systems and other accessories.
4. ATI Specialty Alloys and Components
ATI Specialty, 900 employees, focuses on making components from specialty alloys such as hafnium, niobium and titanium for a variety of industries, such as aerospace, agriculture, medical, oil and gas, and power generation.
5. Peterson Inc.
Located in Ogden, Utah, with 500 employees, Peterson is the fastest-growing metal fabricator in the U.S. It specializes in custom fabrication and machining services, and is quickly becoming noticed for its high level of quality and expertise.
6: Lippert Components, Inc., Plt 28
Located in Middlebury, Ind., Lippert Component's Plant 28 is the second fastest-growing U.S. metal fabrication plant, with 450 employees. It specializes in fabricating steel chassis for RVs.
7: GH Metal Solutions
Much like Flint Metal Fabrication, GH Metal Solutions specializes in sheet metal fabrication and stampings. The company's attention to detail has made it the third-fastest growing fabricator, with 400 employees at its Fort Payne, Ala., location.
8: Ryerson
Ryerson specializes in carbon, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication. With 400 employees on site at its Norcross, Ga., headquarters, Ryerson ranks as the fourth fastest-growing fabricator.
9: Tru-Form Industries, Inc.
Tru-Form specializes in making custom metal and plastic components for the aerospace, agriculture and technology industries. Its commitment to premium quality has made Tru-Form the fifth-fastest growing, with 325 employees at its Santa Fe Springs, Calif., location.
