Toyota Motor North America announced on July 6 that it will invest $3.6 billion to expand its San Antonio manufacturing campus with a second vehicle assembly line dedicated to the Tacoma truck. The expansion will add 2.5 million square feet to Toyota Texas and double its size by 2030, and will transition Tacoma production from Toyota's Baja California plant to the United States over an approximate four-year period. The project will create 2,000 new, high-quality jobs at the San Antonio campus, which already employs thousands of workers producing the Tundra pickup, Sequoia SUV, and rear axles.

Electra Selects Springfield, Ohio For $850 Million Hybrid-Electric Aircraft Production Facility
Electra announced on July 21 at the Farnborough International Airshow that it has selected Springfield, Ohio as the site of its first production facility for the EL9 Ultra Short, a nine-passenger hybrid-electric aircraft designed to take off and land in as little as 150 feet. The $850 million investment in Clark County will create 1,975 new jobs and will be located at AirPark Ohio, adjacent to Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport. The facility will initially support production of up to 400 aircraft per year and expand to up to 800 aircraft per year in a second phase. Electra evaluated more than 140 locations nationwide before selecting Springfield, citing the region's proximity to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, its aerospace and defense ecosystem, and the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence.

Beehive Industries Announces $70 Million Southwest Ohio Expansion To Scale 3D-Printed Jet Engine Production

Kratos Expands Sacramento Facility To Manufacture Elroy Air Chaparral Autonomous Cargo Aircraft
Kratos announced on July 20 that it will manufacture Elroy Air's Chaparral autonomous cargo aircraft at its expanding Sacramento, California production facility, serving as the exclusive U.S. manufacturer of the vehicle and fulfilling all U.S. customer orders, with the first production aircraft planned for late 2026. Velo3D Opens Forge 1, One Of North America's Largest Metal Additive Manufacturing Facilities, In Livermore, California
Velo3D officially opened its Livermore Production Campus, Forge 1, on July 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials, customers, and employees, and released the formal opening announcement on July 21. Bosch Announces $2 Billion Silicon Carbide Semiconductor Manufacturing Expansion In Roseville, California
Bosch announced on July 13 a definitive agreement with the U.S. Department of Commerce for up to $225 million in direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act to support the up to $2 billion Bosch is investing to transform its Roseville, California site for the production of silicon carbide semiconductors. The Roseville facility, which has more than 40 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience, has already begun sample production and is on track to produce its first commercial production chips on 200-millimeter wafers in 2026.
