User Activity Reports for Subscription Admins (2021-09-07)
Administrators of multi-user subscriptions now have access to a User Activity Report that shows your users' activity over a desired date range, such as how many times they logged in, how active they have been, what actions they've taken, how many notes they've added, how many profiles they've viewed/printed/exported, and much more. You can even export this data to Excel for further sorting, analysis, and benchmarking. It's a powerful way to track the productivity, efficiency, and success of your entire sales team — included with all multi-user subscriptions. The User Activity Report can be accessed by going to ACTIVE DATABASES, then click 'Manage' next to the desired database, then click the 'User Activity Reports' link.
Ultimate Parent Company Data Now Displayed (2021-08-24)
When viewing a company profile, we now display the "Ultimate" parent company information, in addition to the direct parent company, for companies that have a multi-layered family tree. For example, if company "A" reports to company "B", and company "B" reports to company "C", we now display basic data for both the parent company "B" and ultimate parent company "C" when viewing the profile for company "A". This will allow you to most easily zero-in on the ultimate decision maker.
Search by ISO Certification When Building a List
When building a list, you can now include ISO certifications as part of your search criteria. This new filter is found on the Industry Criteria page in the "Build List" function.
Total Employment Field Now Searchable
The new Total Employment data field mentioned below can now be searched when building a list. This new setting is located on the Advanced criteria page.
Total Employment Field Now Exportable
The new Total Employment data field mentioned below is now included when exporting a data file.
Primary SIC and Employment Counts Added to Parent Company Data
The Parent Company Information section of the company profile now includes the parent company’s primary SIC code, number of employees at that location, and total number of employees at that location and all of its divisions & subsidiaries.
Total Employment Counts
Employee counts for companies in the database only count employees at that specific location. So, when you take a large conglomerate like Koch Industries, our HQ company record states they only have 2,885 employees even though they have more than 60,000 employees across the entire organization. With that in mind, we have introduced a new feature that provides an additional "total employment" count for all parent companies in our database. If a company has one or more divisions/subsidiaries, we now provide a count of employees at that location and an additional count for total employees across all locations in our database. "Total Employment" is viewable on the company profile when applicable.
Buyer Interest Intent Data Added to Company Profiles
Two interactive charts have been added to the company profile view. The first chart shows the number of times buyers are searching IndustryNet (the industrial marketplace) to purchase products/services offered by that company. The second chart shows the number of times buyers are searching IndustryNet to purchase from that company versus its direct competitors.
Export Family Tree
Pro and Pro+ version subscribers can now export the family tree for any company. To export a Family Tree, pull up the Family Tree and click the new export icon in the upper right corner. Every company within the family will be exported to a single file (even if they are at levels beyond what is shown on the screen). The export file includes two additional columns indicating the "Hierarchy" or level at which the company appears in the Family Tree as well as the Parent Company ID for each company, so you can identify the most appropriate decision makers. NOTE: Only companies that are included as part of your active subscription are exported in the file.
One Record Per Company Now Exports 15 Executives
The number of executives exported with the "One Record Per Company" export option of the "Build List" function for Pro and Pro+ versions now includes up to 15 executives. This file format previously included only the top 10 executives. This means that when you choose the "One Record Per Company" option you are now receiving all executives for each company (since we cap the number of executives profiled per company at 15).
Search for a Company by Company ID
If you would like to search for a company using it's unique Company ID, you can now enter that into the company search box under PERFORM SEARCH.

Include SIC / NAICS Codes Descriptions in Export File
When exporting a file, you can now optionally include additional fields in the data file for Primary SIC Code Description, SIC Code 2 Description, SIC Code 3 Description, SIC Code 4 Description, and NAICS Code Description. This is a Yes/No question on the export data screen.

Global Company Exclusion (Omit)
Specify whether omitting a company when building a list excludes it globally for all lists or for that specific list only. When set to 'Per-List', omitted companies will be saved as part of the list criteria. When set to 'Globally', you omit a company once and it will remain omitted for every list you build. This setting can be changed on the ACCOUNT page.
View All Competitors
When viewing a company's profile, a section titled 'Potential Competitors' shows possible competition to the company you are viewing, based on similar industry and company size (# of employees). If more than 30 potential competitors are available, a link now appears at the bottom right of the box allowing you to open a new window and view all competitors.
Estimated Sales Figures
When viewing a company's profile, if the company has not reported their sales figures to us, we now provide an estimate of annual sales based on an analysis of other companies with reported annual sales in the same industry. Estimated annual sales figures can be included when searching by Annual Sales on the Advanced criteria page, and can optionally be included when exporting.
Estimated Square Footage Figures
When viewing a company's profile, if the company has not reported the size of their facility to us, we now provide an estimate of square footage based on an analysis of other companies with reported square footage in the same industry. Estimated square footage figures can be included when searching by Square Footage on the Advanced criteria page, and can optionally be included when exporting.
Build a List (and Export) by Company Name
You can now build a list based on keywords in the company name. For example, build and export a list of all the Abbott locations by visiting the Advanced Criteria page and entering 'Abbott' in the 'Company Name Keyword' search box. Your list results will update based on this company name keyword. You can optionally add other criteria elements, such as geography or company size to further refine your list. Export available for Pro and Pro+ versions only.
Social Media Links Updated
A complete refresh of company social media links has been performed on the entire MNI database. A significant portion of companies now include links to their Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and Pinterest feeds. Existing social media links have been updated for greater accuracy.
Executive Email Addresses Updated Regularly
New processes have been implemented to research and add direct email addresses for new executives as they are added to the MNI database. Typically over a thousand new direct email addresses are added weekly. Additional processes have also been implemented to verify existing executive email addresses more frequently, removing invalid email addresses as they are identified. Direct executive emails are available with the Basic+ and Pro+ versions only.
Related Company News Articles
When viewing a company's profile, a section titled 'Related News Articles' shows news articles that are related to the company you are viewing and its parent company, as well as news articles featuring the company's competitors.
SIC and NAICS Reference Lists Added
In addition to searching for SIC and NAICS codes by keyword when building a list, you can now access a full listing of all SIC and NAICS codes from the SIC Code List and NAICS Code List we added to the 'RESOURCES' section. This is useful if you simply want to browse and review the entire list of codes.
Bulk Email Partnerships
Most ESP's such as Constant Contact and MailChimp prohibit you from importing a 3rd party list. They only allow you to import your own customers with an existing business relationship. Fortunately, we have partnered with a couple reputable services that will allow you to import email addresses from your database subscription. Visit the SENDING BULK EMAIL page under the 'RESOURCES' section.
Backup Internet Provider Installed
To further increase our redundancy and reliability, we have installed another ISP connection to our facility, allowing IndustrySelect to remain online even if our primary provider experiences a disruption of service. This complements our other existing backup systems which include backup hardware and on-site power generation, all designed to bring you the most reliable experience possible.
IndustrySelect Blog
The new IndustrySelect Blog offers a variety of valuable content for sales, marketing, and business development professionals such as sales & marketing tips and best practices, industry data and trends, and other original content specific to those who sell to industrial businesses.
